A little coon lost his "momma" in Pennsylvannia. Of course, we had to give it a place in our hearts!
Coons do not make "Good Pets"!!! We respect his space and his instincts. By careful research and hours and hours of socialization.... we are able to share our worlds with each other. He has never offered to bite us, but he can play as "rough" as it can get!! Thus, when Bandit plays with us, we look like we were attacked by 10 mad cats! Of course he doesn't mean to scratch us, but it is his Nature to play rough. We hope he lives a very long life. He is now going on two years old.
This is my Beautiful Baby! An African Grey Parrot who was born in 1989. Yes! He is now 10 years old! (they can live up to 70 years!!! Remember that before running out to get one!) He is extremely smart and talkative. It is important to know how much they can talk.... BEFORE YOU BUY ONE! And also to realize.... they talk when THEY want to, NOT when you are ready to "show them off to company". People who hear him talk and his HUGE vocabulary want one immediately! It took hours and hours of time to teach him what he knows. And if one is not educated about how they learn to talk, they can learn really nasty habits like *screaming* to get attention. ANY kind of attention! Do you yell at the kids? He will be happy to yell at them too... all the time! In fact... the best way to teach an Afrian Grey to say a word is to *shout it*. Thankfully, in our house we do not ever curse. This is just the type tones they would love to pick up and learn!
My Beautiful Bandit....
You were always meant to be free. We raised you, loved you....
Then - We set you free!
I think of you often,
Miss you always.
The memories you gave me will always be with me. You will not be far from my heart.
Run Free and Wild....
Like you were meant to.
I miss you :(
Before .............. and After
they grew up so fast, to become beautiful and graceful on our pond.
Here we have a beautiful visitor! A gorgeous red bird decided to just "sit" on Chester's finger! No Kidding!!! He just "sat there" and let us touch him... and pet him.
Then just as quickly as he had appeared....
He flew away.
Life On the Farm... at WhiteOak
We love our dogs here at WhiteOak... but we love ALL Animals! And we want to share some photos with you. These are a few of our "critters" that we take care of daily. It really keeps us busy! It is a full time job to care for, feed, and spend time with all of the Critter family. We spend many hours outside each day..... that's why it is sometimes hard to reach us by phone till after dark! (and sometimes even then we are still outside! *smile*) We do check our email often !
